London's Calling

Sweet peanuts at the London Bridge or Tower Bridge

Hi there! Happy new year! Such an overdue post; as this blog has been abandoned for about five months. There were so many things going on and I took a long break from writing as there were too many commitments to settle. I've wanted to write again but time wasn't on my side. However, early  December I took a one-week break to travel to the UK. Yes, I came back after a good fifteen-year lapse. UK had changed a lot and London was a bit different compared from what I'd experienced 15 years ago. I'm really glad that I'd made the decision to go back as it brought back a lot of memories. Going back again was indeed  a closure to the chapter of my youthful days and it was even surreal to think that I took the plunge to travel with my sister and son. However, what is life without challenges, right? Nevertheless, those memorable days spent in the UK has stayed in my mind up to this day. UK in a way is progressing and there are so many skyscrapers around. Apart from the iconic London Eye, there are fancy buildings such as The Shard, The Leadenhall (dubbed as the cheesegrater), Canary Wharf and so on. I was totally clueless on what to expect in London nowadays; I thought that this endearing city has lost a little bit of its charm. Well, things change, anyway.  I guess 15 years of not going back is such a long time. Okay, back to this post- I'm sharing some of the pictures I took in the UK and I truly hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do. As for this year, I'm hoping to bake and start writing again; sharing recipes and et cetera. On the other hand, I've got a long-abandoned project in the pipeline and I do think I should concentrate on my passion and do things which can make me happy. Till then, wishing everybody a Happy New Year  and may all your wishes come true...
